Softball Recap: Holy Cross Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Holy Cross's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Bullitt Central an 11-0 shutout. Holy Cross might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

Piersan Shrader was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Priddy, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Holy Cross has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Bullitt Central, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will head out to face off against Franklin County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bullitt Central, they will face off against Bardstown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
