The Seiling Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Southwest Covenant Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Seiling put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Covington-Douglas 48-0 on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Seiling just coasted through the last quarter.
Meanwhile, Southwest Covenant took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-22 win over Waukomis. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-2.
Among those leading the charge was Nate Gerber, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 50 yards and two touchdowns. Gerber really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Williams, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Seiling's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. As for Southwest Covenant, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Seiling against Southwest Covenant in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 54-8 victory. Does Seiling have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southwest Covenant turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
