The Orme Warriors lost against the Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Orme was dealt a 48-6 loss at the hands of Wickenburg Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Orme has scored all season.
John Collins was Orme's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Wickenburg Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Gustin led the charge by scoring ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. Gustin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Matney, who scored nine points.
Orme's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Wickenburg Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Orme will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Verde Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Wickenburg Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Telesis Prep at 5:00 p.m. Telesis Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Wickenburg Christian Academy is ranked 59th).
