West Forsyth gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Douglass Astros, posting a 27-0 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wolverines just coasted through the last quarter.
West Forsyth had a senior duo take command as Mason Page picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Max Walraven threw for 119 yards and a pair of TDs.
One reason for the win was West Forsyth's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Andrew Davis was especially locked on to Douglass' QB and sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Astros' side was Jack Sacchetti, who made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Looking ahead, West Forsyth will host Marietta at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Douglass, they will venture away from home to square off against Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
