Basketball Recap: Clark Triumphs

Madison came into Friday's game looking for another win against Clark, but Jaden Flemons wouldn't allow it. The Clark Cougars came out on top against the Madison Mavericks by a score of 47-37 on Friday thanks in part to Flemons, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and five steals. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Jones, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Madison lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Josiah Fite-Brown, who posted 12 points. Zaul Gonzalez was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Clark's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.

Clark wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-47 win against Brandeis on the 7th. As for Madison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-40 loss against Johnson on the 7th.
