Coffee was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Mundy's Mill 38-13. The Trojans came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Lowndes suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 57-0 loss to Lowndes. The Vikings had been ranked 20th, but fell to 29 following the defeat.
Coffee's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Keegan McGovern threw for 149 and three touchdowns and Brandon Roe had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Timareion Simmons chipped in 89 yards. Jalen Wilkerson helped Coffee's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Brice Ramsey of Camden County is the league leader in passing yards this season with 525. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, the Trojans' George Johnson has rushed for 260 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Bobby Hill. The Colquitt County star has 19 catches for 287 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Wildcats take on Valdosta. Camden County is currently in second, while the Wildcats are in third.
Valdosta was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, Rance Gillespie's team defeated Newton 31-7.
