The Stony Brook Bears can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They blew past Luther 74-48. The score was close at the half, but Stony Brook pulled away in the second half with 44 points.
Tristan Elcock and Gavin Hugine certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Elcock scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Hugine scored ten points along with five rebounds. Elcock has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.
The win (which was Stony Brook's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 47.7 points. As for Luther, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Stony Brook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Luther, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Woodmere Academy at 5:30 p.m. Woodmere Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 209 points over their last three matchups.
