Big Rivers recap October 1, 2013
Hudson was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Eau Claire Memorial. The Raiders came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
Chippewa Falls scaled the state rankings by moving to 159 from 199 this week, the biggest jump in Big Rivers. The Cardinals were able to move up by topping River Falls 34-13.
Superior's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Mehlum has thrown for 1,274 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Jake Libal has 18 catches for 405 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hudson takes on Superior. As it stands, Adam Kowels' team is in third, while the Spartans are in first.
Menomonie extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Rice Lake, 14-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
