Trinity Episcopal's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Collegiate as they made off with a 19-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Brooke Shelton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Cooper Beatty was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Alexa Linton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Trinity Episcopal kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, St. Margaret's had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Collegiate last Tuesday, falling 21-2. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.
Trinity Episcopal's record is now 8-3. As for St. Margaret's, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything went Trinity Episcopal's way against St. Margaret's in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Trinity Episcopal made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
