Basketball Recap: Kermit Comes Up Short

Kermit came up into this matchup off a tough 34-point defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Wink Wildcats by a score of 47-45 on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Defeat or not, Kermit got some senior leadership from Diego Juarez and Brayden Pando. Juarez posted nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Pando put up 16 points. What's more, Pando also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Abel Muniz was another key player, putting up four points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wink to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Tally, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Tally has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Abram Bell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Kermit's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Wink, their record is now 3-1.

Kermit didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-32 victory against Trinity on the 10th. As for Wink, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-53 win against Non Varsity Opponent on the 7th.
