St. Edward is 1-9 against Timothy Christian since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Green Wave will head out on the road to  take on  the Trojans  at 4:30  p.m.
St. Edward is headed into Friday's   contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game  on Thursday. They took  a  9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lisle.
  Zachary Lombardo was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Timothy Christian came tearing into  Tuesday's  match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Raiders  an   11-0 shutout. The  game marked the Trojans' most dominant  win of the  season.
 Nolan Montella made a big impact no matter where he played. He  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Montella was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Eli Colegrove, who  got on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. Timothy Christian is undefeated when  Colegrove posts two or  more  stolen bases, but 10-12 otherwise.  Jonah Roemmich was another key player,  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Timothy Christian  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .552. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
 Timothy Christian's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-12. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Edward, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-25.
 St. Edward suffered a grim  10-3 defeat to Timothy Christian  when the teams last played  two weeks ago. Can the Green Wave avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
