The Beloit Trojans entered their tilt with the Southeast of Saline Trojans with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Beloit strolled past Southeast of Saline with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 45-28. Given Beloit's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Southeast of Saline is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bryce Beisner was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Quinn Eilert was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Southeast of Saline's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gannon Jacobson, who scored 12 points along with two steals, and Daniel Kejr who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Southeast of Saline struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Beloit's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Southeast of Saline, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Beloit will head out on the road to take on Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southeast of Saline, they will be playing at home against Republic County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southeast of Saline is facing Republic County at the right time seeing as Republic County is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
