The Linton-Stockton Miners had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They had just enough and edged Greencastle out 26-23.
Linton-Stockton found their leader in underclassman Paul Oliver, who rushed for 196 yards.
Greencastle's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lamar Moore, who rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Moore hasn't dropped below sixsolo tackles for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Huff, who picked up 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Linton-Stockton's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.17 points. As for Greencastle, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Linton-Stockton will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southmont at 7:00 p.m. Greencastle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
