Basketball Recap: Brooks Debartolo Collegiate Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jasani Andrews and Emerie Bohannon-Chenault

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate lost a heartbreaker to Tampa Prep when they met back in February of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix fell 38-27 to the Tampa Prep Terrapins. The Phoenix were probably out for revenge after losing 40-38 to them when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate had strong showings from Emerie Bohannon-Chenault, who posted 13 points and four steals, and Jasani Andrews, who put up nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Bohannon-Chenault a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Shaniya Gonzalez, who had a point along with nine boards and three steals.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Tampa Prep, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-15.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate will take on Cambridge Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cambridge Christian has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. Tampa Prep has already played their next game (against Shorecrest Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
