Last Thursday, Dorchester Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 victory over Jefferson Davis Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Dorchester Academy.
Meanwhile, Calhoun Academy struggled with threes on Thursday (Andrew Jackson Academy had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The game between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Calhoun Academy falling 63-47.
The losing side was boosted by Chase Strickland, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Hunter Thornburg was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Dorchester Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Calhoun Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Dorchester Academy took a serious blow against Calhoun Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 72-43. Can Dorchester Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
