MAHWAH, N.J. -
Mahwah (N.J.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 20-3 victory over
Lakeland Regional (Wanaque, N.J.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Robert Askew touchdown run in the second quarter, the Thunderbirds were up 7-3 at the half.
Mahwah grew its lead to 11 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Askew.
The Thunderbirds went into the matchup giving up only 8.1 points per game. Lakeland Regional's three points were well below their season average of 38.1 per game.
The loss comes after Lakeland Regional defeated Indian Hills 31-7 last week. The loss ended Lakeland Regional's two-game winning streak.
