The Archbishop Hoban Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Green Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Archbishop Hoban scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Holy Name 81-52 at home. Archbishop Hoban pushed the score to 63-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Green Wave had little chance of recovering from.
Jonas Nichols continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last four games he's played. Andrew Karhoff was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Green had just enough and edged the Panthers out 44-42 on Friday. Given Green's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Panthers are ranked 368th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Archbishop Hoban is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Green's record is now 13-3.
Archbishop Hoban was able to grind out a solid victory over the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 55-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Archbishop Hoban since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
