Despite a 2-0 week for previous No. 1 Archbishop Moeller, St. Vincent-St. Mary's moved into the top spot of the MaxPreps Ohio Top 25 rankings this week.
The Fighting Irish won by margins of 50 and 30 points to improve to 12-3 to stretch their win streak to six games. The alma mater of LeBron James averages 72 points per game.
Meanwhile, Moeller won its 13th and 14th straight game with wins over Colerain (58-23) and Winston Woods (56-45) but dropped from first to second in the computer-based rankings.
Only one team — South (Columbus) — dropped out of the Top 10, while McKinley jumped up three spots to No. 10.
Eighth-ranked University (Morgantown, WV) is included in the Ohio rankings by the MaxPreps computer because it is a member of the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.
