Warden has won four straight games at home, while Cle Elum-Roslyn has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Cougars will welcome the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Warden beat Columbia 5-1.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cle Elum-Roslyn). They were the clear victors by a 28-2 margin over White Swan on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.
Trey Tolen-Chavez and Tyler Halverson made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Tolen-Chavez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Halverson didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. What's more, Tolen-Chavez posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At bat, Tolen-Chavez got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Halverson went 2-for-4 with four runs and one RBI. Halverson has become a key player for Cle Elum-Roslyn: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Cle Elum-Roslyn got a massive performance out of Tristan Bogart, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave Bogart a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Austin Pulley, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Cle Elum-Roslyn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Warden's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Cle Elum-Roslyn, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Warden beat Cle Elum-Roslyn 10-5 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
