The Royal Palm Beach Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Suncoast on the road and fell 52-13. While losing is never fun, Royal Palm Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Suncoast is ranked 185th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Suncoast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Philleah Bright, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bright posted eight or more assists. Nyana Gordon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Royal Palm Beach has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Suncoast, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Royal Palm Beach will take on Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Suncoast won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wellington at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Wellington is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
