Strasburg hasn't had much luck against Resurrection Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Strasburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Strasburg needed a bit of extra time to put away Weld Central. They skirted past the Rebels 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since April 26, 2024.
Jared Flamini made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Strasburg is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Flamini was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 5-1.
Braedyn Budd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddox Sessions, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.
Strasburg now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Resurrection Christian, their record now sits at 8-4.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Strasburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. However, it's not like Resurrection Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Strasburg suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Resurrection Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
