The Greencastle Tiger Cubs's 23-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They lost to Sullivan on the road by a decisive 53-34 margin on Friday. Greencastle has struggled against Sullivan recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Greencastle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Evelyn Briones. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with three steals. Briones hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Brown, who scored three points.
Greencastle has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Sullivan, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Greencastle will head out on the road to face off against South Vermillion at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. South Vermillion is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Sullivan will be home for the holidays to greet Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
