If Armstrong was feeling good  off their  12-2 takedown of Georgetown-Ridge Farm last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Gernentz has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Gernentz was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Ellie Jameson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Armstrong  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 12  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakwood only tossed six.
 On Oakwood's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Gracie Hanner, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was  Samantha Dunavan, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and a  triple.
 Armstrong has  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last seven matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record  this season. As for Oakwood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.
 Coincidentally,  the pair will both be playing Milford the next time they take the field. Oakwood will  host Milford at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday, while Armstrong will  host them  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
