The Edison Eagles will take on the Haskell Haymakers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Edison took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Summit Christian Academy with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering Edison's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Beckett Greteman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Greteman was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Linken Frank, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Henry O'Meilia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Haskell came out on top against Morris on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Haymakers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Eagles. The Haymakers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Haskell's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Baxter Neal, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Neal has posted since back in April of 2025. Jaxon Drain was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Edison's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Haskell, their record is now 1-0.
