After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Letchworth, the Avon Braves were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Warsaw by a score of 44-35. That's another feather in the cap for Avon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Avon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maggie Vanderbilt, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Geary, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Avon's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Warsaw, their loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
Avon will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayland-Cohocton is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Warsaw, they will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
