The Amundsen Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Maine South Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Amundsen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Amundsen's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Ridgewood. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Cassidy Carter, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Ridgewood off the board.

Maine South couldn't beat Glenbrook North on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Hawks lost 15-5 to the Spartans. The Hawks have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Riley Story made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Ella Piazza was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Amundsen's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Maine South, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Amundsen's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Maine South, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Amundsen continue to outrun the ball?
