Softball Recap: Kankakee Valley Has No Trouble Against West Central

Kankakee Valley's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the West Central Trojans. The Kougars haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kyli Page and Jessica Beauchamp made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Page tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Beauchamp didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, Page posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. At bat, Page went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Beauchamp went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Julia Mahmet was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Savannah Michalski was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

Kankakee Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 5-1 when they post two or more home runs.

Kankakee Valley's record is now 14-11. As for West Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-6 record.

Coming up, Kankakee Valley will face off against South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Satellites' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Kougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Central, they will challenge Frontier at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.73 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
