The Newark Norsemen were the 64-55 winner over the St. Bede Bruins when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Newark ended up on the wrong side of a tough 45-24 walloping at the hands of St. Bede on Tuesday.
It was another big night for Ali Bosnich, who scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and four steals for St. Bede. The contest was Bosnich's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Ehm, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Newark's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5. As for St. Bede, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Annawan the next time they take the court. Newark will head out to face Annawan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while St. Bede will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
