Basketball Game Preview: Cassopolis Rangers vs. Bloomingdale Cardinals

Cassopolis is 10-0 against Bloomingdale since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cassopolis Rangers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Bloomingdale Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Cassopolis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Bloomingdale likes a good challenge.

Cassopolis is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Lawrence: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cassopolis blew Lawrence out of the water with a 67-40 final score. The Rangers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season.

Ayden Gillam was nothing short of spectacular: he posted 30 points and five rebounds. Those 30 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Williams, who had 11 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Bloomingdale hadn't done well against Comstock recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bloomingdale snuck past Comstock with a 54-50 victory.

Cassopolis pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Bloomingdale, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Everything came up roses for Cassopolis against Bloomingdale in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 72-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cassopolis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
