The Community Christian Royals will face off against the Stillwater Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Community Christian will be looking to extend their current 25-game winning streak.
Community Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: Bethany, who was ranked 11th at the time (Community Christian was ranked first). The Royals came out on top against the Bronchos by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.
Community Christian easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Stillwater's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Mustang. While the Pioneers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 25-18 in the first set.
Stillwater started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-17.
Community Christian will have to contain Taylor Rattay as she made an impact in Stillwater's last game. She had 28 digs and three assists. Rattay is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Kael Valdois was another key player, getting 11 digs.
Community Christian's win bumped their record up to 30-1. As for Stillwater, their loss dropped their record down to 19-12.
Community Christian beat Stillwater 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
