Waynesville is 2-8 against Franklin since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Waynesville Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Franklin Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Waynesville pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clinton-Massie.
Meanwhile, Franklin pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-59 to Miamisburg. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Franklin in their matchups with Miamisburg: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kai Cook, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Mcguire, who scored 10 points.
Waynesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-1.
Waynesville strolled past Franklin when the teams last played back in January by a score of 65-49. Will Waynesville repeat their success, or does Franklin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
