The Lancaster County Christian Lions fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Warriors 57-52. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lancaster County Christian in their matchups with Dayspring Christian Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Lancaster County Christian still got an impressive performance from Noah MacCartney, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Richardson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dayspring Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Miracle Johnsons, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Johnsons hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Preston Kauffman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Lancaster County Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Lancaster County Christian will head out on the road to challenge York Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lancaster County Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Halifax is coming into the matchup with seven straight wins on the road, so Dayspring Christian Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
