The Stewarts Creek Red Hawks will challenge the Coffee County Central Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Stewarts Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Dickson County, taking the game 7-4.
Preston Stewart looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Stewarts Creek let Ayden Jackson and Coleman Neas run wild. Jackson scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Neas scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Neas has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Rhodes, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coffee County Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Northwest on Saturday as Coffee County Central made off with a 12-2 victory. The matchup marked the Red Raiders' most dominant win of the season so far.
Davis McKenzie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. McKenzie was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those hits were his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Pippenger, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Trevor Jesse was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Coffee County Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Stewarts Creek's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 4.5 runs. As for Coffee County Central, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Stewarts Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Coffee County Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Stewarts Creek's way against Coffee County Central when the teams last played back in March of 2017, as Stewarts Creek made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stewarts Creek since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
