After a string of three wins, the Konawa Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by Holdenville at home and fell 82-45. While losing is never fun, Konawa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Wolverines are ranked 122nd).
Holdenville was led to victory by Kase Sipes and Izaia King. Sipes scored 17 points, while King scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Seeley, who scored 12 points.
Konawa's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12. As for Holdenville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Konawa's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Holdenville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 7:00 a.m. on Friday.
