Beal City is a perfect 5-0 against Lake City since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Aggies will host the Trojans at 4:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Beal City's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while Lake City has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Beal City is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Michigan's top teams: Woodhaven, who was ranked 11th at the time (Beal City was ranked 23rd). The Aggies lost 17-2 to the Warriors on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Aggies have suffered since April 8, 2024.
Beal City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madason Fisher, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake City). They put the hurt on Roscommon with a sharp 16-5 win on Friday.
Lake City got a massive performance out of Payton Durga, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave Durga a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Olivia Arhens, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Beal City's loss dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Lake City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-15.
Lake City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Beal City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .441. It's a different story for Lake City, though, as they've only averaged .209. Will they be able to contain Beal City's hitters?
