Even though the Grove City Eagles have not done well against the Meadville Bulldogs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Grove City walked away with a 57-47 victory over Meadville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grove City.
Despite the loss, Meadville still got an impressive performance from Jack Burchard, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. The matchup was Burchard's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tate Reichel, who scored seven points along with three blocks.
Grove City's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Meadville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grove City will square off against Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hickory will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Meadville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Harbor Creek at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Harbor Creek is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
