Softball Recap: Ariton Has No Trouble Against New Brockton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Long, Ariton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the New Brockton Gamecocks 14-3. The Purple Cats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ariton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for New Brockton, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Coincidentally, Ariton and New Brockton will both be playing Kinston the next time they take the field. The Gamecocks will head out to face the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Purple Cats will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
