The Saluda Tigers lost to the Emerald Vikings back in January, but the Saluda Tigers didn't allow the Emerald Vikings the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Saluda strolled past Emerald with points to spare, taking the game 43-25. The win made it back-to-back wins for Saluda.
Jurnee Williams and Ti'yonia Tennant certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Williams scored eight points along with three steals, while Tennant scored three points along with 14 rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Saluda's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Emerald, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saluda will challenge Strom Thurmond at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Strom Thurmond is ranked 130th, while Saluda is ranked 107th). Emerald won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McCormick at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th.
