The Annawan Braves just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Princeville Princes at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Annawan will be strutting in after a victory while Princeville will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, Annawan still came out on top. Annawan snuck past Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] with a 61-57 victory. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but Annawan was the better team in the second half.
Meanwhile, Princeville pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Mercer County. Princeville has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Annawan's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Princeville, their loss dropped their record down to 23-4.
Annawan was able to grind out a solid victory over Princeville when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 60-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Annawan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
