Even though the Sullivan East Patriots scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the Tennessee Vikings still came out on top. Tennessee was the clear victor by a 81-57 margin over the Patriots. Given Tennessee's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Patriots are ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Tennessee to victory were Addie Wilhoit and Anna kate Kinch. Wilhoit scored 21 points along with five assists, while Kinch scored 20 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Keeyanah Foote, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Tennessee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Sullivan East, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tennessee will play host again and welcome the Fighting Cyclones, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sullivan East, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully David Crockett focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
