After two games on the road, Glynn Academy is heading back home. They will take on The Lakeside Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Glynn Academy, who comes in off a win.
Glynn Academy was not the first on the board two weeks ago, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Evans by a score of 22-14. Given Glynn Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Evans is ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Lakeside pushed their score all the way to 31 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Effingham County 36-31.
Ty Jones put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Mi?keal Grissom was another key contributor, picking up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Glynn Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Lakeside, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6.
Glynn Academy took their win against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 42-20. Will Glynn Academy repeat their success, or does Lakeside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
