They blew past Harrells Christian Academy 61-31 on the road. Given Rocky Mount Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Harrells Christian Academy is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rocky Mount Academy can attribute much of their success to Isabella Daza, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Taylor Carmichael, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carmichael has scored all season. Jessica Proctor was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Christ Covenant came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 57-30 victory over Faith Christian Academy at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Christ Covenant has posted since December 2, 2023.
Rocky Mount Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Christ Covenant, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Rocky Mount Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Christ Covenant in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 53-40. Will Rocky Mount Academy repeat their success, or does Christ Covenant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
