Oakwood's loss came despite strong showings from Nikita Taylor and Gracie Hanner. Taylor scored five points along with five rebounds, while Hanner scored three points along with four steals. Hanner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Oakwood struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Salt Fork's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-5. As for Oakwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-18.
Salt Fork will take on the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Storm are ranked 188th). As for Oakwood, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Cissna Park will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
