Basketball Recap: Phelps Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Phelps Lions ended up a good deal behind Newman and lost 88-71.

When it comes to explaining why Phelps lost, don't look at Onyx Nnani. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Nnani's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Houser, who posted 12 points and eight boards.

Phelps now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Newman, the victory was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Phelps wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 88-80 loss against Worcester Academy on the 8th. As for Newman, they will venture away from home to face off against Cambridge at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
