Shipley will be home for the holidays to greet the Malvern Prep Friars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Shipley lost to Episcopal Academy at home by a decisive 69-55 margin. Shipley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Henry Rassmussen, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Will Littles, Jr, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Malvern Prep put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Abington Friends 73-41 at home. Malvern Prep's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Shipley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Malvern Prep, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Shipley was dealt a bruising 88-31 loss at the hands of Malvern Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Shipley was down 44-7.
