Meanwhile, Houston Christian never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed by Oakridge on the road to the tune of 47-0. The result was nothing new for Houston Christian, who have now won four matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Houston Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kilchrist led the charge by throwing for 173 yards and four touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Ewan Highberg, who gained 53 total yards and three touchdowns.
Trinity Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Cistercian and 2-7 Greenhill (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.3% over those games). As for Houston Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Trinity Valley commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 6.2 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Houston Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Saturday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Trinity Valley couldn't quite finish off Houston Christian in their previous meeting back in September and fell 34-32. Can Trinity Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
