Basketball Recap: Cypress Lake Comes Up Short

Cypress Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Oasis Sharks 57-26. One positive for the Panthers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Oasis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brynn Stambaugh out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stambaugh has scored at least a third of Oasis' points. Tessa Bexfield was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards.

Cypress Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oasis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Cypress Lake will welcome Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Oasis, they are taking a road trip to take on Cape Coral at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cape Coral will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Oasis surely won't give up without a fight.
