Granite Falls and Coupeville are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Granite Falls sitting on three straight victories and Coupeville on 15.
Granite Falls barely beat Friday Harbor the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 11-4 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bella Frye made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addy Haverfield was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Thelen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coupeville). They were the clear victors by a 153-3 margin over South Whidbey on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Coupeville pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 runs over those games. As for Granite Falls, their record is now 10-7.
Granite Falls came out on top in a nail-biter against Coupeville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
