It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Chinle Wildcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Page 70-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Chinle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Antwian Bahe, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bahe has scored all season. Jostaiah Harvey was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Page lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyree Stingley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Stingley is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Williams, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Chinle and bumps their season record up to 13-4. As for Page, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Chinle will be playing at home against Alchesay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alchesay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Chinle is ranked 115th). As for Page, they will head out on the road to square off against Tuba City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
