After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hamilton, San Jacinto Valley Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Temecula Prep Patriots. Considering the Wolves have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Avilika Arana made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Angelina Dominguez was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Meeya Abaoag was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
San Jacinto Valley Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Temecula Prep only posted an OBP of .318.
